Good evening Class,

I believe that opinions about nudism, the death penalty, the role or of man and the woman in society, homosexuality, marriage or free union, animal cruelty and the different types of government models are all subjected to Moral Relativism. Because people opinions are based on their culture and ways of life, for this reason, I cannot accept the practice of a Moral Absolutism on any of these cases.

However, I do have another question. Pick a case where you could accept the practice and use Moral Absolutism. Moreover, my answer is that I do accept a Moral Absolutism against genocide since to me, represent the massive destruction of life diversity.

According to J. Rachels, the core of ethics is to give everyone’s interest equal weight.

The practice that I accept is the man staying at home while the woman works, it is not usual that the man stays at home taking care of the house and the kids, if any; if this practice works for the family then I don’t see anything wrong with it, especially in these times where women have the same rights and duties as man and vice versa. A case where I will not accept Moral Absolutism is health. Some religions don’t allow transfusion of allogeneic such as blood, red or white cells, plasma or platelets, even if is going to save a person life.

I think that he explain about how have an open mind, and give equal weightage to each one’s ethical reference without being judgemental.

Moral Relativism is considered like the case of way of dressing in different cultures.The preference of lesser clothes by the people of West should not be judged as bad by the people of East, and similarly , the preference to cover up whole body by the people of East should not considered as cultural backwardness by the people of West
